Journalist, Kadaria Ahmed, Reacts To Allegation Of Organising Protest Against COZA Pastor, Biodun by AngelPrisi(f) : 10:12 am

Journalists and television host, Kadaria Ahmed, has refuted allegation that she is the organiser of the planned protest against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

Protests are expected at the church headquarters in Abuja and branches in other parts of the country over allegation that Fatoyinbo raped Busola Dakolo, wife of singer, Timi Dakolo.

The clergyman denies the allegation.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Ms Ahmed said: “There is a rumour making the rounds that I am the organiser of the march to COZA in Abuja tomorrow.”

She said this is simply not true as she is not even in Abuja.

“The organisers are a group of women and men that come from diverse backgrounds and civil society groups,” she added.

Ahmed said the intent of those behind the allegation “appears to be to discredit the protest, by positioning it as something a Muslim woman has planned against the church.”

She explained why people are coming together to match against Fatoyinbo: “Many Church going Christians are appalled at the allegations and want to see a proper investigation and justice done. Some are at the forefront of this protest and are clear that it is one man that has been accused and not the church.

“They march to show support for Busola and other victims of rape. They march to show their repugnance for rape and our culture of victim shaming and silencing. They march to put pressure on the board of trustees of COZA and the police to investigate this serious allegation properly.”

While she will not join the protesters on the streets, “I will be with them in spirit and I will support them in any way I can,” Ahmed promised.
