COVID-19: Gregory University Uturu Partners SKILL G And Israeli Embassy IN Providing Palliatives (Photos) by starboy247(: 9:05 am

In furtherance of her statutory Corporate Social Responsibility functions, which in the recent past led to the delivery of many life-enhancing palliative packages to officials of both Abia and Imo state governments, management of Gregory University Uturu has once again upped the ante of philanthropy by partnering the embassy of Israel and Skill G Ltd. in donating 10,000 units of protective face masks to the federal government.

According to Shimon Ben-Shoshan, Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, who led the delegation to the federal ministry of health office in Abuja for official presentation of the items, the protective facemasks were specially designed in Israel and produced in Nigeria, with the objective of providing extra protection and cover for frontline health workers who are most vulnerable in the fight against COVID-19. The envoy pointed out that the donation would strengthen existing bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Israel.

Receiving the items, the Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire appreciated the delegation for the gesture and promised to deploy the equipment effectively in protecting frontline health workers.

Igbere TV recalls that Gregory University Uturu has been in the frontline of the war against COVID-19, through the donation of such palliative items as test kits, digital infra-red thermometers, ambulances, hand sanitizers, fumigation teams and foodstuff, to governments at different levels, groups and individuals.

Also, the Chancellor of the University, Prof Gregory Ibe donated 850 bags of rice, hand sanitizers, and other packages to Abia State government in order to mitigate the harsh consequences of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
