Google Play Family Library launching in nine more countries today by Stooi76(m) : 11:15 am

Family Library, the Google Play feature that lets you share content with your family members, will be available in nine new countries starting today.

Google Play Family Library is perfect for anyone who wants to share digital purchases with loved ones. Why should your kid or spouse have to buy or rent Star Wars again just to watch it on their own tablet?

Thanks to Family Library, you can share apps, games, and movies you bought from the Play Store with up to five family members. And it’s not Android only – movies can also be shared on iOS devices and the web.

Starting today, Family Library is available in South Africa, Belgium, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine and Chile.

The service is available for free – just buy that movie on your device and everyone in your family can gain instant access. Before you ask – yes, you can select which content you want to share, so you won’t need to worry about sharing R-rated content with your kids.

The new countries follow the initial rollout from July 2016, when Family Library went live for users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

What about music? Well, you’ll have to pay if you want to share that. Google Play Music’s Family plan is available for $14.99/month and it’s available in all of the countries we listed above.

The feature should go live today, but it will probably take a while until everyone gains access. To check if you have it, look for the new Family section in the Play Store side menu.
